Job summary

Go Lean Health is seeking a Medical Virtual Assistant to support a chiropractic clinic remotely. The role requires a sharp, proactive individual who can own clinic workflows, improve billing tasks, and maintain strong English communication with the care team.

Key duties include insurance verification, denied claims management, EOB processing, patient balance resolution, and claims processing. This is a 30-hour-per-week remote position with a $5–$6/hour rate and a Mac OS-friendly setup.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant
• Experience supporting a US healthcare practice
• Experience with insurance verification, EOBs, claims, denied claims, patient balances, or billing support
• Exposure to CPT and ICD-10 codes
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong executive presence and professional communication style
• Must be a Mac OS user
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Proven leadership, ownership, or high-accountability experience in a previous role

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance after the patient checks in, around 15 minutes after appointment time
• Review denied claims, identify denial reasons, and assist with reprocessing
• Review and process Explanation of Benefits documents and clear backlogs
• Review outstanding insurance balances and coordinate resolution
• Support claims-related workflows including Cigna and VA claims
• Assist with vendor payments and check payments as needed
• Monitor SOAP note completion and ensure accuracy
• Track missed or cancelled appointments and trends affecting revenue
• Prepare reports on balances, missed appointments, EOB backlog, and other metrics
• Coordinate with provider, care team, and admin staff
• Identify workflow gaps and propose practical improvements
