Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant.
• Experience supporting a US healthcare practice.
• Experience with insurance verification, EOBs, claims, denied claims, patient balances, or billing support.
• Exposure to CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be a Mac OS user.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proven leadership or ownership in a previous role.

Responsibilities

• Insurance verification after patient check-in, verifying accuracy and documentation.
• Review denied claims, identify reasons, and assist with reprocessing.
• Process EOBs, organize backlogs, and ensure accurate billing records.
• Track patient balances and coordinate resolution steps.
• Support claims workflows, including Cigna and VA claims.
• Assist with vendor payments and ensure timely tasks.
• Monitor SOAP notes for accuracy and compliance.
• Track missed/cancelled appointments and scheduling trends.
• Prepare reports on balances, missed/cancelled appointments, and other metrics.
• Maintain smooth communication between provider, care team, and staff.
• Identify workflow gaps and suggest practical improvements.
