Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant
• Experience supporting a US healthcare practice
• Experience with insurance verification, EOBs, claims, denied claims, patient balances, or billing support
• Exposure to CPT and ICD-10 codes
• Strong English communication (written and verbal)
• Mac OS proficiency and professional communication style
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Leadership, ownership, or high-accountability experience

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance after check-in and document information.
• Review denied claims, identify reasons, and assist with reprocessing.
• Process Evaluation of Benefits (EOB) documents and clear backlogs.
• Track outstanding balances and coordinate resolution steps with patients.
• Support claims workflows, including Cigna and VA claims, and escalate as needed.
• Assist with vendor payments and ensure timely, accurate tasks.
• Monitor SOAP note completion and raise concerns about delays or gaps.
• Track missed or canceled appointments and patterns affecting revenue.
• Prepare reports on balances, missed/canceled appointments and other metrics with actionable insights.
• Coordinate communication between provider, care team, and admin staff to avoid missed tasks.
• Identify workflow gaps and suggest practical improvements to billing and documentation.
