Job summary

Go Lean Health is seeking a Virtual Medical Assistant & Patient Scheduling Coordinator to support a U.S.-based gastroenterology practice. This role blends front-desk support with clinical administrative tasks, with initial focus on patient calls, scheduling, and appointment coordination in eClinicalWorks (eCW).

The ideal candidate has hands-on eCW experience, excellent English communication, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of hands-on experience supporting a U.S.-based medical practice.
• Experience performing both medical receptionist/front-desk and medical assistant administrative tasks.
• Hands-on eClinicalWorks (eCW) experience is required.
• Strong experience with patient scheduling and appointment coordination.
• Familiarity with prior authorizations, insurance verification, prescriptions/refills, and lab/diagnostic workflows.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage inbound and outbound patient calls, respond to inquiries, and follow up on appointment requests.
• Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate new patient visits, follow-ups, procedures, and surgical appointments in eCW.
• Monitor patient communications across phone, email, and text including reminders and changes.
• Support Physicians and Nurse Practitioners with chart prep, intake information, and documentation.
• Assist with prescription requests, refills, and related documentation per clinic protocols.
• Verify insurance coverage and document benefits, process prior authorizations, and coordinate with patients and insurers.
