Job summary

Vertaccount Inc. seeks an Accounting Associate in the Philippines to support day-to-day accounting operations for a US-based client, with a night shift from 9 PM to 6 AM Manila time.

You will handle AP/AR, reconciliations, GST/HST/QST filings, and month-end closing, ensuring accurate financial records and timely reporting. The role requires 3–4 years of experience, a BSA, and strong Excel/Accounting software skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy (BSA) required.
• CPA license preferred but not required.
• 3-4 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience and full-cycle bookkeeping.
• Experience with GST/HST/QST and Canadian accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle AP/AR transactions, including bills, invoices, and aging reports.
• Perform bank, credit card, payroll, and other account reconciliations, including CUPE, RRSP, and WSIB.
• Support GST/HST/QST filing and reconciliation.
• Assist with month-end closing and monthly financial statement preparation.
• Prepare financial and exception reports and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Monitor and resolve accounting discrepancies and outstanding items.
• Manage daily accounting-related emails, requests, and follow-ups within the set turnaround time (e.g. 1 hour TAT for emails).
• Perform other accounting tasks as assigned.
