About the role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Merchandiser/Chicken Cutter (Butcher) to join our team at MKS Workforce Management Services Inc. This is a full-time position based in Los Baños, Laguna. In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation, cutting, and merchandising of poultry products whilst maintaining the highest standards of food safety and presentation. You will play a crucial part in ensuring our retail customers receive quality products and have an exceptional shopping experience. This position is integral to our retail operations and directly contributes to customer satisfaction and sales performance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cut chicken and poultry products according to established specifications and customer requirements

• Portion and trim meat to precise weights and cuts, ensuring consistency and quality

• Maintain sharp and sanitised cutting equipment and tools in compliance with health and safety standards

• Display and merchandise poultry products in retail cases and on shelves in an attractive and appealing manner

• Ensure proper labelling of products with accurate pricing, weights and product information

• Monitor inventory levels and alert management to stock requirements and potential shortages

• Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene and sanitation protocols at all times

• Assist with stock rotation, ensuring older products are used first (FIFO method)

• Support the merchandising team in promotional activities and special product displays

• Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding product quality and customer requests

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience as a butcher, chicken cutter or in a similar meat preparation role within retail or food service environments

• Strong knowledge of meat cutting techniques, poultry preparation and butchery best practices

• Excellent knife skills and proficiency with butchery equipment and tools

• Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene standards and HACCP principles

• Ability to work with precision and maintain high standards of quality and presentation

• Physical capability to perform repetitive tasks and work in a cool/cold environment

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately

• Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team

• Good communication skills and customer service awareness

• Relevant food handling certification or willingness to obtain certification

• Experience in retail merchandising or product display is desirable
