About the role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Merchandiser/Chicken Cutter (Butcher) to join MKS WORKFORCE MANAGEMENT SERVICES INC in Taguig City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in our retail operations, ensuring that our poultry products are expertly processed, properly displayed, and maintained to the highest standards of quality and food safety. As a key member of our merchandising team, you will be responsible for both the technical aspects of butchery work and the strategic presentation of products to drive sales and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Expertly cut, trim, and portion chicken and poultry products in accordance with company standards and customer specifications
• Operate and maintain butchery equipment and tools in a safe and sanitary manner, following all food safety protocols
• Prepare and package chicken products for retail sale, ensuring proper labelling, dating, and pricing accuracy
• Maintain an attractive and hygienic merchandise display that encourages customer purchases and complies with health and safety regulations
• Monitor product freshness and quality, removing items that do not meet standards and rotating stock appropriately
• Manage inventory levels and communicate product needs to supervisors and management
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the butchery counter, storage areas, and equipment throughout shifts
• Provide excellent customer service by responding to customer requests, answering product-related questions, and offering recommendations
• Train and mentor junior team members on butchery techniques, food safety standards, and merchandising best practices
• Comply with all applicable food safety regulations, health codes, and company policies

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a butcher or chicken cutter, preferably in a retail or food service environment
• In-depth knowledge of poultry cutting techniques, meat grading, and portion control
• Strong understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene standards relevant to meat processing
• Proficiency in using butchery tools and equipment safely and effectively
• Physical capability to perform repetitive cutting, lifting, and standing for extended periods
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining product quality and presentation standards
• Strong organisational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks and customer requests
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and support colleagues in a fast-paced retail environment
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach to service delivery
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required by retail operations
• Preferred: Relevant certifications in food safety, butchery, or meat processing
• Preferred: Previous experience in merchandising or retail operations within the food sector
