About the role

MKS WORKFORCE MANAGEMENT SERVICES INC is seeking a skilled and dedicated Merchandiser/Chicken Cutter (Butcher) to join our team in Santa Rosa City, Laguna on a full-time basis. This role is pivotal to our retail operations, combining merchandising expertise with professional meat preparation and butchering skills. You will be responsible for ensuring that our poultry products are expertly prepared, attractively displayed, and ready for sale, whilst maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. This position is critical to delivering exceptional customer experiences and driving sales within our retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Expertly cut, trim, and prepare chicken and poultry products to specification, ensuring consistent quality and presentation
• Maintain sharp and properly sanitised butchering tools and equipment in accordance with food safety regulations
• Display poultry products attractively on retail shelves and in merchandising areas, adhering to company standards and promotional guidelines
• Ensure all products are correctly labelled with pricing, weights, and expiration dates
• Monitor product freshness and rotation, removing expired or damaged items promptly
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, including the butchering station and retail display areas
• Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of raw poultry
• Assist customers with product selection and provide recommendations based on their requirements
• Communicate with management regarding inventory levels and product availability
• Support promotional activities and seasonal merchandising initiatives

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience as a butcher or meat cutter, with strong expertise in poultry preparation
• Comprehensive knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handling and storage practices
• Proficiency in using butchering tools and equipment safely and effectively
• Experience in retail merchandising and product display to maximise sales appeal
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent product quality
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items regularly
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills
• A customer-focused approach with strong communication abilities
• Relevant certifications or training in food handling and butchering practices (preferred)
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members and follow instructions from management
