Responsibilities

• Manage the building’s main electrical distribution, transformers, switchgears, and motor controls.
• Oversee testing, maintenance, and reliability of emergency diesel generators, UPS, and ATS.
• Design and track preventive maintenance schedules to reduce outages.
• Diagnose electrical faults to minimize tenant disruption.
• Evaluate design plans, load calculations, and panel schedules for renovations and fit-outs.
• Monitor third-party contractor installations for safety and code compliance.
• Assist in commissioning of upgraded building services.
• Ensure compliance with NEC and workplace safety standards.
• Analyze power consumption and spearhead energy-saving initiatives.

About the role

We are seeking a licensed and experienced Electrical Engineer to oversee, maintain, and optimize the electrical infrastructure of our premium commercial office building. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the maximum uptime, safety, and energy efficiency of all high- and low-voltage systems, backup power systems, and tenant fit-out projects. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise in commercial building systems with excellent contractor management and vendor coordination skills.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the building's main electrical distribution, transformers, switchgears, and motor controls

• Oversee the testing, maintenance, and reliability of emergency diesel generators, UPS systems, and automatic transfer switches (ATS)

• Design, implement, and track rigorous preventive maintenance schedules to eliminate power outages and system failures

• Diagnose complex electrical faults promptly to minimize disruption to office tenants

• Evaluate electrical design plans, load calculations, and panel schedules submitted by new office tenants for renovations and fit-outs

• Monitor third-party contractor installations during build-outs to guarantee compliance with building guidelines and safety standards

• Participate in the testing, inspection, and formal commissioning of newly upgraded building services

• Maintain building conformity with national and local electrical codes (e.g., NEC), workplace safety standards, and fire protection protocols

• Analyze power consumption patterns, track utility data, and spearhead energy-saving initiatives (e.g., LED retrofits, smart lighting controls)

• Assist in preparing the engineering department's operating budget, cost estimation, and purchasing specifications for spare materials

About you
