Job summary

Avis Budget Group in Tauranga, New Zealand, is seeking a part-time Rental Operations Agent to join our airport-based team. You’ll handle front-of-house customer interactions, process rentals, contracts and bookings during our 6am–9pm hours.

You’ll also inspect vehicles for damage, drive and park cars, and clean vehicles in the wash bay. This entry-level role includes training, a supportive culture, and opportunities to grow within the company.

Qualifications

• Full, clean, valid class 1 driver's licence is essential for this role.
• Previous experience within retail, hospitality, customer service or similar roles
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while delivering exceptional customer service.
• Comfortable learning and using various computer systems to accurately input rental information (training will be provided)
• Ability to follow procedures and adhere to company guidelines and standards.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers on the counter, process rentals, contracts and bookings.
• Promote products and services and complete rental transactions.
• Inspect vehicles for damages and maintenance issues; drive and park cars.
• Clean vehicles inside and out in the wash bay to be ready for customers.
• Work at Tauranga airport hours 6am–9pm, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

About the Role

As a Rental Operations Agent you will be involved in all aspects of our business! This varied role covers both our front and back of house operations. On the counter you will be interacting with our customers, marketing products and services, completing rental transactions, contracts, and bookings.

On the other hand, you will be inspecting vehicles for damages and maintenance issues, driving, and parking our cars as well as cleaning vehicles (interior and exterior) in the wash bay so they are ready for our customers.

Based at the airport we work Monday to Sunday from 6am to 9pm. For this position we are looking for someone who can work part-time (a 20-hour work week) during our operating hours meaning you could be scheduled to work early morning, evening, weekend and public holidays.

What we are looking for:
