Job summary

Avis Budget Group is hiring a Rental Operations Agent in Tauranga, NZ. This entry-level role combines front-and-back-of-house duties, supporting customer interactions, rentals, and vehicle checks. Training is provided to help you develop in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.

Work hours are within airport operating times, with a 20-hour week, including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays. Uniform, parking and wellbeing benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Full, clean, valid class 1 driver’s licence is essential for this role.
• Previous experience within retail, hospitality, customer service or similar roles
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while delivering exceptional customer service.
• Comfortable learning and using various computer systems to accurately input rental information.
• Ability to follow procedures and adhere to company guidelines and standards.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers on the counter and promote products and services.
• Complete rental transactions, contracts and bookings.
• Inspect vehicles for damages and maintenance issues; drive and park cars.
• Clean vehicles in the wash bay so they are ready for customers.
• Work across front and back of house operations at Tauranga airport.

About the Role

As a Rental Operations Agent you will be involved in all aspects of our business! This varied role covers both our front and back of house operations. On the counter you will be interacting with our customers, marketing products and services, completing rental transactions, contracts, and bookings. On the other hand, you will be inspecting vehicles for damages and maintenance issues, driving, and parking our cars as well as cleaning vehicles (interior and exterior) in the wash bay so they are ready for our customers. Based at the airport we work Monday to Sunday from 6am to 9pm. For this position we are looking for someone who can work part-time (a 20-hour work week) during our operating hours meaning you could be scheduled to work early morning, evening, weekend and public holidays.

What we are looking for
