Job summary

Symphony Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join our field engineering team in KL/Melaka on a full-time basis. Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical & Electronics or related field.
• Minimum 1–3 years of field engineering or technical service experience.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent communication in English and Mandarin; willing to travel across Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections, installations and commissioning of equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical faults in a timely, professional manner.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on installed systems.
• Provide technical guidance and customer training on operation and maintenance.
• Document service activities in detailed reports.

Technical Support Engineer (Semiconductor Equipment)

We are seeking a Technical Service Engineer to join our dynamic field engineering team in KL/Melaka on a full-time basis. This is a strategic role that sits at the forefront of our customer service operations, ensuring that our clients receive prompt, professional and effective technical support. As a Technical Service Engineer, you will be the critical link between Symphony Engineering and our customers, providing on-site technical assistance, troubleshooting and maintenance services. Your expertise and professionalism will directly impact customer satisfaction and our reputation in the market.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct on-site technical inspections, installations and commissioning of engineering equipment and systems
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical faults and failures in a timely and professional manner
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on installed equipment and systems
• Provide technical guidance and training to customers on proper equipment operation and maintenance procedures
• Document all service activities, findings and recommendations in detailed service reports
• Liaise with internal teams to escalante complex issues and coordinate follow-up actions
• Respond promptly to customer service requests and emergency call-outs
• Maintain accurate records of spare parts inventory and equipment specifications
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards during all field activities
• Contribute to continuous improvement by gathering customer feedback and identifying service enhancement opportunities

What we’re looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical & Electronics or a related engineering discipline
• Minimum 1–3 years of field engineering or technical service experience in a similar role
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and in a team.
• Knowledge of engineering principles, equipment operation and maintenance practices
• Understanding of electrical systems, PLCs, control system, pneumatics, and vacuum systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing and inspection tools (Oven/ Bonder/ Trim & Form) will be added advantage.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin speaking client; additional languages are advantageous
• Communicate with equipment principals (manufacturers/suppliers) professionally and effectively to ensure timely technical support and resolution.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel throughout Malaysia and surrounding areas
• Customer-focused approach with a demonstrated commitment to providing high-quality service
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional emergency call-outs
• Proficiency in using hand tools, diagnostic equipment and computerised systems
• Strong organisational and time management abilities with attention to detail
• Professional certifications or accreditations relevant to your engineering discipline would be highly valued
