Job summary

OPT Machine Vision Tech Co., Ltd is hiring a Technical Support Engineer to bridge customer needs with cutting-edge vision inspection tech. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s/Diploma in a technical field, 2+ years in machine vision or field service, and strong English; Mandarin is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation or related field.
• At least 2 years in machine vision, industrial automation, technical support or field service engineering.
• Hands-on with cameras, lighting, lenses, and vision software; familiarity with OPT products is a plus.
• Customer-oriented with proactive and solution-driven attitude.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; strong communication in English; Mandarin a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales to design vision proposals including cameras, lighting, optics and software.
• Design and execute in-lab tests and customer-site demonstrations; present at industry events.
• Provide ongoing technical support via CRM, email, phone, and MS Teams; on-site troubleshooting.
• Travel to customer sites domestically and internationally; build long-term relationships.
• Travel up to 25% for pre/post-sales visits and installations.

Job description

As an Technical Support Engineer at OPT, you will play a pivotal role in bridging customer needs with our cutting-edge vision inspection technologies. You will be responsible for understanding customer technical requirements, conducting pre-sales feasibility studies, and providing end-to-end support—from initial consultation to post-sales troubleshooting. Your expertise will ensure our clients receive tailored, high-performance solutions that maximize their operational potential.

Key Responsibilities

• -Pre-Sales Collaboration: Work closely with the Sales Team throughout the sales cycle to design and recommend optimal vision proposals, including cameras, lighting, optics, software, etc
• -Technical Demonstrations: Design and execute in-lab tests, customer-site demonstrations, and presentations at trade shows, seminars, and industry events to showcase OPT’s capabilities.
• -Post-Sales Support: Provide ongoing technical support to existing customers using tools like CRM, email, phone, and MS Teams. Troubleshoot issues on-site and deliver timely, effective resolutions.
• -Customer Engagement: Travel to customer sites across the designated territory for pre and post-sales visits, ensuring seamless implementation and fostering long-term relationships.
• -Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, with estimated overnight travel up to 25%.

Qualification

• -Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, or a related field.
• -Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in machine vision, industrial automation, technical support, or field service engineering.
• -Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with industrial cameras, vision lighting, lenses, and vision software. Familiarity with OPT products is a plus.
• -Mindset: Customer-oriented with a proactive, responsible, and solution-driven attitude.
• -Collaboration: Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
• -Excellent communication and presentation skills, with fluency in English (both written and spoken). Proficiency in Mandarin is a strong plus.
