Job summary

Ideal Vision Integration is looking for a Field Service Engineer to perform onsite setup and testing of machine vision/AOI systems in Penang. You will configure lighting, controllers, cameras, lenses, and optics to ensure optimal operation.

You will troubleshoot, train customers on operation and maintenance, and conduct sample evaluations. Regular daily email reports will document progress; travel locally and overseas is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Chinese speaker proficiency is preferred to liaise with customers.
• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment is preferred.
• Knowledge of machine vision/image processing/motion control is an added advantage.
• 1–2 years of related field experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and test AOI machines onsite.
• Troubleshoot and provide technical assistance to customers.
• Perform minor mechanical fine-tuning on-site and in-house.
• Integrate machine vision hardware (lighting, controller, camera, lenses).
• Conduct customer training on system operation and maintenance.
• Perform sample evaluations to study vision/motion feasibility.
• Maintain daily customer communications and follow up on-site.
• Send daily activity reports via email to customers and teams.

Job description

Responsible for onsite system setup and testing for machine vision system such as Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) machine.

Perform troubleshooting and provide technical assistance to customers.

Responsible for minor and basic mechanical fine-tuning and adjustment in-house and on-site.

Integrate and configure machine vision related hardware such as lighting, controller, camera, lenses and optics.

Conduct customer training on system operation, basic troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Perform sample evaluation to study machine vision / motion control feasibility.

Maintain daily communication with customers to ensure tasks and action items are well follow up on-site.

Perform daily reporting through email to customers and respective teams on your daily activities.

Job Requirements

Preferably Bachelor's Degree / Post Graduate in Engineering (preferably Electrical / Electronic) or equivalent.

Chinese speaker proficiency is preferred to liaise with customers.

Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting on equipment is preferred.

Knowledge of machine vision / image processing / motion control is an added advantage.

Preferable 1-2 year(s) of working experience in the related field.

Responsible, able to work independently, initiative and good interpersonal skills.

Discipline, strong time management skill, multi-tasking with priority planning.

Willing to travel both locally and overseas as required by the job needs.
