Job summary

Stream Empire Holdings Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur seeks a seasoned Store Manager to oversee daily store operations, lead the retail team, and ensure exceptional customer service for premium wines and spirits. You will manage rosters, inventory, POS cash handling, and loss prevention while driving sales growth.

You will recruit and train staff, monitor KPIs, prepare management reports, and partner with the District Manager on improvements.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Business, Retail Management, Hospitality or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
• At least 5 years of retail experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or store management role.
• Experience in luxury, premium liquor, wine and spirits, F&B or hospitality retail is a strong advantage.
• Hands-on experience with POS systems, cash handling, stock takes and sales reporting.
• WSET or similar certification is a plus; strong product knowledge of wines and spirits preferred.
• Proven record of achieving sales targets and growing repeat or membership business.
• Able to build rosters, read sales and stock reports, and prepare management reports in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Good written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin or Cantonese an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist the District Manager in overseeing store operations and the retail team.

• Ensure SOPs are followed and housekeeping is maintained daily.
• Work with District Manager on operations and manpower; propose improvements.
• Lead sales strategy and drive monthly/annual targets; manage budgets.
• Recruit, roster, train and onboard retail staff; monitor attendance and performance.
• Maintain inventory accuracy; perform stock takes and manage stock loss.
• Perform cashier duties; ensure accurate pricing and daily bank deposit.
• Monitor loss prevention and security; oversee CCTV and controls.
• Prepare monthly management reports; support events and new outlets.
• Coach staff, develop career plans, and address misconduct per policy.
• Ensure presence to serve high-value clients with professional service.

Job description

Assist the District Manager in overseeing store operations and the retail team.

Hold custody of the outlet keys. Open and close the outlet on time according to its business hours.

Make sure the retail team follows the SOPs set by Management and the Retail Operations.

Work closely with the District Manager on store operations and manpower issues. Propose improvements and give constructive feedback.

Make sure housekeeping is done every day, and keep the outlet clean, presentable and fit for a premium brand.

Make sure all merchandise displays follow the Visual Merchandising guidelines, including campaign and festive set-ups.

Sales and Customer Experience

Develop the outlet's sales strategy together with the District Manager, and lead the team to drive sales and achieve monthly and annual targets.

Update the monthly and annual sales target budget.

Spot and capture sales opportunities resourcefully, including gifting, corporate orders, bundles, member sign-ups and app promotions.

Serve customers to The Chamber's best customer service standard, giving confident advice on labels, pairing and gifting.

Recruit retail team members with the District Manager and HR to identify manpower needs, shortlist and interview candidates, and onboard new hires.

Plan and prepare the monthly duty roster for retail team members.

Manage attendance, punctuality, leave and replacements so the outlet is fully covered on every shift.

Make sure staff clock in and out every day, and complete the staff movement record when anyone leaves the outlet during working hours.

Uphold discipline and the company code of conduct. Address misconduct promptly and document it, escalating to the District Manager and HR where needed.

Run regular product and customer service training for the retail team.

Coach junior staff and prepare a career development plan for each team member.

Inventory and Merchandise

Monitor stock movement and merchandise levels on the floor and in the storeroom. Raise low stock with the Merchandising team in good time.

Help keep inventory records accurate.

Carry out stock takes for the outlet and take responsibility for any stock loss in the store.

Cashiering and Cash Control

Perform cashier duties including collect cash and card payments, track all cash and credit transactions, and scan products to make sure prices are accurate.

Handle cash vouchers in line with current promotions.

Make sure cash transit is done daily, so that each day's cash sales are banked into the company account the same day.

Loss Prevention and Security

Manage loss prevention and security in the outlet, including CCTV monitoring, inventory controls and spot checks.

Reporting and Other Duties

Prepare a monthly management report for the District Manager and Management.

Help the team with other projects as needed, such as new outlet openings, events and tastings.

Carry out any ad-hoc tasks assigned by Management.

REQUIREMENTS

Diploma or degree in Business, Retail Management, Hospitality or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.

Must be non‑Muslim and aged 21 or above, as the role involves selling and handling alcoholic beverages.
