Job summary

Berjaya Penang Hotel is seeking a Stewarding Supervisor to oversee daily stewarding operations and coordinate the activities of the stewarding team. The role ensures cleanliness, hygiene, and proper maintenance of kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils in line with hotel standards and food safety requirements.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, scheduling rosters, monitoring equipment, and enforcing occupational safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the stewarding team to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Ensure all kitchen areas, dishwashing sections, floors, drains, equipment and utensils are maintained in a clean and hygienic condition.
• Monitor the proper operation, cleaning and maintenance of dishwashing machines and other stewarding equipment.
• Ensure adequate availability and proper storage of cleaning chemicals, detergents and other stewarding supplies.
• Monitor staff attendance, grooming, discipline and work performance.
• Prepare duty rosters and assign daily tasks to ensure sufficient manpower coverage.
• Ensure all employees comply with hotel hygiene standards, food safety procedures and occupational safety requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections of kitchen and stewarding areas to ensure cleanliness and identify any maintenance issues.
• Monitor the proper handling, storage and disposal of garbage and recyclable materials.
• Ensure proper care and handling of kitchen utensils, chinaware, glassware, cutlery and operating equipment to minimize breakage and losses.
