Job summary

Hyatt Centric City Centre Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia seeks a Chief Steward to lead the Stewarding Department in line with Hyatt standards. You will ensure the department runs efficiently, maintain a clean back‑of‑house area, and provide clean equipment to kitchens, outlets and banquets based on expected business levels.

The role requires HACCP knowledge, relevant hospitality qualifications, and experience in a hotel setting; Malaysian citizenship or permanent residency is preferred due to visa

Qualifications

• Ideally with a relevant degree, apprenticeship or diploma in Hospitality or restaurant management.
• Minimum 2 years' work experience as Chief Steward in a hotel preferable with international hotel.
• Experienced and knowledgeable in kitchen operating equipment's, cleaning chemical.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge in hotel and food & beverage safety regulations such as HACCP is essential.
• Good computer and report writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee efficient running of the Stewarding Department in line with Hyatt standards.
• Manage the Stewarding team as a cost-efficient, productive unit.
• Maintain an organised and clean back‑of‑house area in Food & Beverage.
• Provide kitchens, outlets and banquets with clean operating equipment as per business levels.
