Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in stewarding or food and beverage operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and sanitation best practices in hospitality environments.
• Proficiency in operating commercial kitchen equipment and stewarding machinery.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
• Outstanding organisational and time management abilities to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and quality.
• Effective communication skills in English; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
• Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy items, and work in a warm kitchen environment.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays as required by resort operations.
• Relevant certifications in food safety or hospitality management are preferred

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the stewarding team, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback to ensure consistent excellence in all cleaning and sanitation duties
• Develop and implement cleaning schedules and protocols for kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, glassware, and dining areas
• Monitor and maintain compliance with food safety regulations, health and hygiene standards, and company policies
• Conduct regular inspections of stewarding areas to ensure cleanliness, proper equipment maintenance, and safe storage of chemicals and cleaning materials
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, detergents, and equipment, and coordinate with relevant departments for procurement and maintenance
• Respond promptly to requests from the kitchen and food service staff, ensuring minimal disruption to operations
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs with maintenance teams when necessary
• Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, equipment maintenance, and any incidents or safety concerns
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the stewarding department
• Participate in regular staff meetings and contribute to departmental initiatives and improvements
