The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and 3–5 years of site experience on commercial or infrastructure projects, with strong drawing interpretation, safety discipline and effective communication with diverse teams.

Qualificações

• Solid knowledge of construction methods, materials, codes and safety standards.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise and coordinate on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with project specs and safety regulations.
• Monitor progress and prepare regular reports for management and clients.
• Conduct daily inspections of workmanship, materials and site conditions to maintain quality.
• Manage site resources, including labour, equipment and materials, ensuring efficient utilisation.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to resolve technical issues and maintain project schedules.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental protocols are implemented on site.
• Maintain accurate site records including daily logs and as-built drawings.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and project managers to address concerns and provide technical clarification.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to prevent delays and cost overruns.
• Conduct material testing and verify deliveries meet requirements.

About the role

Ying Hai Development Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join our construction team in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our construction projects. As Site Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical and operational aspects of construction sites, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence in the construction industry and directly contributes to the success of our project delivery objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings and safety regulations


• Monitor construction progress and prepare regular reports for project management and clients


• Conduct daily inspections of workmanship, materials and site conditions to maintain quality standards


• Manage site resources, including labour, equipment and materials, ensuring efficient utilisation


• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to resolve technical issues and maintain project schedules


• Ensure all health, safety and environmental protocols are implemented and adhered to on site


• Document and maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, progress photographs and as-built drawings


• Liaise with clients, consultants and project managers to address concerns and provide technical clarification


• Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to prevent delays and cost overruns


• Conduct material testing and verify that all deliveries meet specified requirements

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent professional qualification


• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Site Engineer on commercial or infrastructure construction projects


• Sound knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes and safety regulations


• Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings


• Experience with construction management software and Microsoft Office applications


• Strong understanding of project management principles and construction scheduling


• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse teams


• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously


• Professional certification or registration with relevant engineering bodies (preferred)


• Experience in the Malaysian construction industry is advantageous
