Job summary

Pertama Makmur Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to lead on-site construction activities in Malaysia. The role focuses on ensuring alignment with drawings, plans, and timelines while coordinating with contractors, consultants, and suppliers.

The candidate will interpret technical drawings, monitor quality, and prepare progress reports, reports, and inspections for management. Strong communication and regulatory familiarity are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Site Engineer in construction.
• Good knowledge of construction practices, materials and regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiar with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Ensure construction work aligns with drawings and work programme.
• Supervise and monitor site construction activities to meet plans, specifications and timelines.

Job description

Ensure the construction work is accordance to drawing and work programme.

Supervise and monitor site construction activities to ensure they align with approved plans, specifications and timelines.

Coordinate, monitor, control and report status of delivery materials.

Coordinate and liaise with contractors, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers to ensure timely execution and compliance with project requirements.

Ensure that all works are carried out to the required quality standards and in accordance with relevant codes and regulations.

Interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.

Prepare site reports, inspection reports, and progress updates for management.

Identify and resolve any technical issues that arise on-site.

Support the procurement of materials and equipment as required.

Liaise with local authorities to coordinate inspections, permits, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Attend and participate in site, technical, safety and coordination meetings to ensure smooth project execution and effective communication among all stakeholders.

Supervise assigned site staff to ensure work is carried out in accordance with given instructions.

Ensure adherence to safety procedures and support a safe working environment in coordination with the safety team.

Any other duties as assigned by the superior.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.

At least 5 years of experience as a Site Engineer in the construction industry.

Good knowledge of construction practices, materials and regulations.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
