Job summary

Ying Hai Development Sdn Bhd in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah seeks a responsible Site Supervisor to oversee daily construction activities, coordinate site workers and subcontractors, monitor progress and ensure safety and quality in line with drawings and schedules.

The candidate should hold a Diploma/Certificate in Civil Engineering or equivalent, with 3–5 years of site supervisory experience in building projects. Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is required; Mandarin is an added advantage.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Construction Management or a related field.
• Preferably 3–5 years of relevant site supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, reinforced concrete structures, formwork and finishing works.
• Good understanding of CIDB safety requirements and occupational safety practices.
• Strong leadership, communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is an added advantage.
• CIDB Construction Personnel Registration Card (Green Card) where required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily site operations, coordinate workers, subcontractors, machinery and materials.
• Monitor progress, manpower, productivity and schedules to ensure timely completion.
• Ensure subcontractors comply with drawings, quality standards and project requirements.
• Identify site problems and report to Site Engineer or Project Manager.
• Supervise reinforcement installation, formwork, concrete casting and finishing works.
• Monitor material usage, prevent wastage and ensure proper storage.
• Prepare daily site reports and attendance records.
• Coordinate site inspections with Site Engineers, QAQC and consultants.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Job description

We are looking for a responsible, experienced and hands-on Site Supervisor to join Ying Hai Development Sdn Bhd for large-scale construction projects in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising daily construction activities, coordinating site workers and subcontractors, monitoring work progress and ensuring all construction works are carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily site operations and coordinate construction workers, subcontractors, machinery and material deliveries
• Monitor construction progress, manpower allocation, productivity and daily work schedules to ensure timely project completion
• Coordinate subcontractors and ensure their work complies with approved drawings, quality standards and project requirements
• Identify site problems, construction defects, unsafe practices and potential delays, and promptly report them to the Site Engineer or Project Manager
• Supervise reinforcement installation, formwork, concrete casting, structural works and architectural finishing
• Monitor material usage, prevent unnecessary wastage and ensure proper handling and storage of construction materials
• Prepare daily site reports, record manpower attendance, monitor work progress and maintain accurate site records
• Coordinate site inspections with Site Engineers, QAQC personnel, consultants and subcontractors
• Read and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications and work instructions

About you

• Diploma or Certificate in Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Construction Management or a related field; candidates with extensive relevant site experience will also be considered
• Preferably 3–5 years of relevant site supervisory experience, particularly in building construction and main contractor projects
• Strong practical knowledge of construction methods, reinforced concrete structures, formwork, reinforcement works, concreting, architectural works and finishing works
• Strong understanding of construction site safety procedures, CIDB requirements and occupational safety practices
• Strong leadership, communication, coordination and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage workers effectively
• Ability to work independently, take initiative and perform under pressure in a fast-paced construction environment
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office/WPS and WhatsApp reporting for daily site coordination and documentation
• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage for communication with Chinese-speaking project teams
• Possession of a valid CIDB Construction Personnel Registration Card (Green Card), where required for site access
