Responsibilities

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer/QA QC to join our Civil/Structural Engineering team at Tuah Bersatu Jaya Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time position based in Sabah. As Site Engineer/QA QC, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, safety and adherence to specifications on our construction sites. You will be responsible for overseeing site operations, managing quality assurance and quality control processes, and ensuring all works are executed to the highest standards in compliance with project requirements and industry regulations. This position is essential to the successful delivery of our infrastructure and construction projects.

Key responsibilities

Conduct daily site inspections and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, drawings and technical standards

Perform quality assurance and quality control testing on materials, concrete, steel and other construction elements in accordance with approved standards

Prepare and maintain comprehensive site records, documentation, inspection reports and testing certificates

Identify defects, non-conformances and safety issues on site and implement corrective actions promptly

Liaise with contractors, consultants, clients and relevant authorities to resolve technical and quality-related matters

Manage site safety protocols and ensure all personnel comply with health, safety and environmental regulations

Witness and verify critical testing activities including concrete strength testing, material certifications and structural inspections

Prepare progress reports, quality reports and photographic documentation of construction stages

Coordinate with laboratory testing services and ensure all test results meet project specifications

Maintain site cleanliness, organisation and proper storage of materials and equipment

What we're looking for

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline

Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Site Engineer or QA QC professional in civil and structural construction projects, Fresh encourage to apply

Strong knowledge of construction materials, testing procedures, quality standards and building codes

Familiarity with relevant Malaysian construction standards, building regulations and best practices

Proficiency in using quality testing equipment and familiarity with construction documentation software

Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify defects and deviations from specifications

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with project teams and stakeholders

Physical fitness and willingness to work on active construction sites in varying weather conditions

Problem-solving ability and proactive approach to resolving site-related issues

Valid driving licence and own transportation are advantageous

Professional certifications such as CIDB registration or ISO quality management certifications are preferred
