Job summary

Ying Hai Development Sdn Bhd in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, seeks an experienced Site Engineer to oversee on-site construction activities and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to required quality standards.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and 3–5 years of site experience on commercial or infrastructure projects, with strong drawing interpretation, safety discipline and effective communication with diverse teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of Site Engineer experience on commercial or infrastructure projects.
• Solid knowledge of construction methods, materials, codes and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with project specs and safety regulations.
• Monitor progress and prepare regular reports for management and clients.
• Conduct daily inspections of workmanship, materials and site conditions to maintain quality.
• Manage site resources, including labour, equipment and materials, ensuring efficient utilisation.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to resolve technical issues and maintain project schedules.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental protocols are implemented on site.
• Maintain accurate site records including daily logs and as-built drawings.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and project managers to address concerns and provide technical clarification.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to prevent delays and cost overruns.
• Conduct material testing and verify deliveries meet requirements.
