Job summary

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Engineer to join Asfalia Construction Sdn Bhd in our Klang - Port Klang, Selangor office. This is a full-time position based on-site, where you will play a crucial role in overseeing construction activities and ensuring projects are executed to the highest standards of quality, safety and efficiency. As a Site Engineer, you will be instrumental in bridging the gap between design and construction, providing technical expertise and coordination across all project phases.

Key responsibilities

• Monitoring and supervising daily construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings and contractual requirements
• Conducting site inspections and preparing detailed reports on construction progress, quality assurance and any issues encountered
• Liaising between the project management office, contractors, suppliers and clients to ensure effective communication and coordination
• Verifying that all materials, equipment and workmanship meet required standards and specifications before approval
• Managing site safety protocols and ensuring all personnel adhere to health and safety regulations and best practices
• Maintaining accurate records of site activities, test results, inspections and modifications
• Identifying and resolving construction challenges whilst maintaining project schedules and budgets
• Supporting quality control testing and participating in site meetings with stakeholders
• Assisting in the preparation of tender documents, method statements and construction schedules
• Ensuring environmental compliance and sustainable construction practices are implemented on-site

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution
• Professional registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) as a Graduate Engineer (GE) or Professional Engineer (PE) is highly desirable
• Minimum 2-3 years of practical site engineering experience on construction projects, preferably in structural or civil works
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, standards and regulations applicable in Malaysia
• Proficiency in using engineering software and tools such as AutoCAD, BIM applications and project management software
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with diverse teams
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make sound decisions under pressure
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to various project sites as required
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental (HSE) practices and regulations in the construction industry
