Job summary

Joystar Auto Sdn Bhd in Glenmarie Shah Alam seeks a Service Advisor to be the primary bridge between customers and the workshop. You will welcome clients, note vehicle concerns, perform initial inspections, and record service needs.

You will prepare cost estimates, coordinate with the workshop team to track repair progress, keep customers updated on timelines, and explain invoices and warranties at handover.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in automotive service or frontline customer roles.
• Basic knowledge of automotive maintenance and repairs is a plus.
• Familiarity with service booking software is advantageous.

Job description

To serve as the primary bridge between our customers and the automotive workshop. This role is responsible for welcoming customers, diagnosing and recording vehicle service needs, providing accurate cost estimates, managing repair timelines, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience from drop-off to vehicle handover.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Reception & Consultation: Greet customers warmly, listen attentively to vehicle concerns or maintenance requirements, and conduct initial walk-around vehicle inspections.

Service & Repair Quotations: Prepare clear, accurate repair orders, cost estimates, and parts requirements using dealership management systems.

Workshop Coordination: Coordinate closely with the After-Sales Manager, Foremen, and Technicians to monitor repair progress and ensure vehicles are ready on promised timelines.

Customer Communication: Keep customers updated regularly regarding repair statuses, additional required work approvals, and unexpected delays.

Billing & Handover: Explain completed service invoices, warranties, and maintenance recommendations clearly to customers upon collection, ensuring full payment and satisfaction.

Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate service records, customer history files, and insurance/warranty documentation in compliance with dealership standards.

About You

Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience as a Service Advisor or in customer service/frontline roles within the automotive industry (familiarity with Chery, GWM, or Jetour vehicles is a strong plus).

Good general knowledge of automotive mechanics, basic repairs, and standard maintenance procedures.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-pressure workshop environment.

Computer literate and comfortable using service booking and dealership management software.
