Job summary

Joystar Auto Sdn Bhd in Shah Alam seeks a Senior Automotive Technician to lead advanced diagnostics, complex repairs, and quality control across vehicle systems. The role includes mentoring junior technicians, ensuring workshop efficiency, and delivering exceptional customer service for complex vehicle escalations.

The candidate should have 3–5 years of hands-on automotive repair experience, strong knowledge of modern diagnostic tools, ADAS, and NEV systems, and ASE Master Technician level

Qualifications

• High school diploma or relevant vocational/technical certification.
• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on automotive repair experience with senior/lead capacity.
• Advanced proficiency with diagnostic tools, oscilloscopes, scan software and multimeters.
• Extensive expertise with complex electrical systems, ADAS, NEV/hybrid systems, and engine/transmission management.
• Ability to read and train others on wiring diagrams, schematics and service manuals.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic diagnostics and repairs.
• Perform advanced vehicle maintenance and precision overhauls.
• Conduct rigorous final safety and quality inspections before vehicle handover.
• Troubleshoot difficult no-fault-found or intermittent issues referred by juniors.
• Mentor and support junior technicians and apprentices on best practices and tool usage.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all repair activities and warranty claims.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance in the workshop area.
• Provide technical insights to Service Advisors to improve customer communication and service quality.

The Senior Automotive Technician will lead advanced diagnostics, complex repairs, and quality control across vehicle systems. In addition to hands‑on maintenance, this role involves mentoring junior technicians, supporting workshop efficiency, ensuring compliance with strict safety standards, and delivering exceptional customer service for complex vehicle escalations.

Key responsibilities

Lead complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle diagnostics and repairs

Perform advanced vehicle maintenance and precision overhauls

Conduct rigorous final safety and quality inspections before vehicle handover

Troubleshoot difficult "no-fault-found" or intermittent issues referred by junior technicians

Mentor, guide, and support junior technicians and apprentices on best practices and tool usage

About you

High school diploma or relevant vocational/technical certification

Advanced proficiency in using modern diagnostic tools, oscilloscopes, scan software, and multimeters

Extensive expertise with complex electrical systems, advanced driver‑assist systems (ADAS), hybrid/New Energy Vehicle (NEV) systems, and engine/transmission management

Exceptional ability to read, interpret, and train others on complex wiring diagrams, schematics, and factory service manuals

Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills to support team growth

Advanced problem‑solving skills and the ability to manage a busy, high‑pressure workshop queue efficiently

Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Technician certification (or regional equivalent) strongly preferred
