Job summary

Trio-Tech (M) Sdn Bhd in Penang is seeking an HR Operations Manager to oversee payroll processing, HR workflows, and compliance with labour laws. You will drive process automation, manage HRMS vendors, and ensure data integrity across HR systems while leading audits and monthly reporting.

The ideal candidate has a degree in HRM and at least 5 years of payroll/HR performance management experience, with strong knowledge of local labour regulations and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Labour laws and regulatory requirements.
• Experience developing HR systems, policies, and standards.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Chinese a plus.

This role involves overseeing core HR operational workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and driving process automation or simplification. You will review and execute end-to-end payroll processing, ensure full compliance with statutory contributions and labor regulations, and maintain data integrity across HR systems.

Key responsibilities

Oversee core HR operational workflows, identifying bottlenecks and drive process automation or simplification.

Review and execute end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timely salary and statutory disbursement.

Ensure full compliance with statutory contributions, tax filings, and labor regulations.

Oversee vendor management for HRMS, employee insurance, and etc.

Maintain data integrity, execute system updates/migrations, and run routine or ad-hoc HR analytics reports (headcount, turnover rate, overtime analysis).

Ensure all HR practices align with local labor legislation and company governance frameworks.

Lead internal and external HR audits, ensuring documentation and personnel files meet statutory requirements.

Manage offboarding processes, performance improvement plan (PIP) documentation, and formal grievance records.

Liaises with cross-departmental teams to ensure the timely and accurate submission of monthly data reportings.

About you

Degree in Human Resource Management and/or equivalent

At least 5 Year(s) experience in the related field, especially in payroll and HR performance management.

Good knowledge of Labour laws.

Experience in developing HR systems, policies, best practice, and standards.

Able to handle company information with confidentiality and discretion.

Language proficiency: English and Bahasa Malaysia. Ability to converse in Chinese language an added advantage

Strong analytical and planning skills.
