Job summary

Rimbaco Sdn Bhd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor to assist in pre-contract cost estimation and tender pricing for diverse construction projects. The role involves sourcing quotations, preparing progress claims, tracking variation orders, and attending meetings with consultants and clients.

The candidate should have at least a diploma/degree in Quantity Surveying and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, with strong cost-control and independent work capability.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building up cost estimates for construction and tender pricing.
• Source and compare quotations from sub-contractors and suppliers.
• Prepare progress claims for sub-contractors and main-contractors for payment.
• Track and submit variation orders based on plan changes.
• Attend consultant and site meetings regarding work progress and issues.
• Prepare project budgets and perform monthly cost analyses.
• Support ISO/OHS management system implementations.
• Follow internal control procedures and perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor

Assist in building up cost of constructing and price sourcing for projects in tendering stage (Pre-Contract) based on the tender drawing.

Source and compare quotation for sub-contractors and suppliers in order to award or sub-let certain jobs/works or labour to them for example masonry, bar bending, concreting, carpentry, roofing and other finishing works.

Administer and file all the building plans, tender, construction and as built drawing and correspondence etc to follow ISO requirement.

Prepare progress claims for sub-contractors and to submit main-contractors claim to the client for payment.

Keep track of variation orders to the projects and to submit claims accordingly based on plan alteration.

Prepare Final Progress Claim which includes Adjusted Contract Sum and finalized all the Variation Orders of Projects.

Attend to the consultant meeting / site meeting with regard to the work progress, site problems etc.

Communicate with Consultants/ Clients on Contract Issue.

Prepare project budget and perform monthly cost analysis to ensure that cost control is within the budget.

Support in the ISO / OH&S management system implementation.

Comply with company internal control procedure.

Any other job functions as assigned by the Management / Superior from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS

Candidate must possess at least Professional Certificate/ Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree/Professional Degree in Quantity Surveyor.

At least 3 Year (s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.

Team player and able to work independently and meet tight deadline.
