Job summary

IAQ Group is seeking a mid‑level Quantity Surveyor to support commercial, tender and contract activities in a Malaysia-based role. You will assist in cost estimation, tender package management and contract compliance across multiple project stages.

You will collaborate with the Senior Manager/Tender Team, prepare Bills of Quantities, and help ensure cost control, progress claims and EOT processes are carried out accurately and on time. This position emphasizes negotiation, accuracy and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying/Construction Management/Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 3 years working experience in the construction industry.
• Excellent knowledge and understanding in the various aspects of construction industry.
• Familiar with engineering cost and industry standards.
• Highly motivated with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Able to prioritize and work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
• Good attention to detail with high importance placed on accuracy.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Manager/Tender Team in commercial related business with negotiation.
• Advise on contract conditions and good in contract knowledge (e.g., PAM, JKR, FIDIC – common in Malaysia).
• Assist in cost estimation at design review stages.
• Tender package issuance to bidders and addenda issuance.
• Arrange tender interviews and clarification sessions.
• Ensure bidders comply with commercial terms of the contract.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ) and check price abnormalities.
• Bidder price comparison and developing cost database.
• Execute tender price rationalization exercises.
• Contract compilation and binding.
• Support EHS operation.
• Prepare Change Order and Variation Order documentation.
• Execute progress claim procedure and verification with package owners.
• Support and preparation on Extension of Time (EOT).
• Cost control and monitoring project spending vs budget and cash flow forecast.
• Execute goods import related matters such as tax exemption, customs clearance and forwarding arrangement.
• Assist Senior Manager/Project Manager in final account closure.

• Accountable for the quality, safety, health and environmental management and performance at the workplace and project site.
• Advise on contract conditions and good in contract knowledge (e.g., PAM, JKR, FIDIC – common in Malaysia)

(b) Engineering Stage

• Assist Senior Manager/Tender Team in cost estimation at each design review stage.

(c) Procurement Stage

• Tender package issuance to bidders
• Addendum issuance to bidders
• Arrange tender interview and clarification session
• Ensure bidders comply with commercial terms of the contract
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ)
• Check price error and abnormalities in proposals submitted by bidders.
• Bidder price comparison and developing cost database
• Execute tender price rationalization exercises
• Contract compilation and binding.

(d) Construction Stage

• Support EHS operation
• Prepare Change Order and Variation Order documentation.
• Execute progress claim procedure. Liaise with package owners in progress claim verification.

(e) Project Closure

• Assist Senior Manager/Project Manager in final account closure.

Requirements:-
