Job summary

MAYGOLD SDN. BHD. is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor to support cost control, contract administration, and financial management of construction projects.

The role involves studying specifications, preparing and checking documents, and coordinating interim progress claims with subcontractors and stakeholders on site. You will monitor time impacts, update management on cost changes, prepare VO costs, and assist in tendering, procurement, and as-built measurements.

Qualifications

• Degree/ Diploma or equivalent in Quantity Surveying / Building or suitably recognized field
• 3-7 years working experience in related field.
• Well verse with the Microsoft Excel, Words, AutoCAD and etc.
• Proven experience working as Quantity Surveyor, preferably in the contractor industry
• Good knowledge of construction cost estimation, budgeting, and procurement processes
• Ability to work well in a team and independently, managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Be a team player, proactive and systematic in your approach
• Able to speak, read & write in English, Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia (In order to liaise with English & Mandarin speaking counterpart)

Responsibilities

• Assist/provide support to the team in ensuring the overall smooth-running including costing, managing contractual and financial aspects of construction projects, pre-contract and post-contract administration
• To study on specifications prior to commencement of a construction projects
• To prepare, coordinate and check for all relevant documents for Sub Contractor Interim progress claim.
• To conduct joint inspection or valuation with external and internal stakeholders as and when necessary.
• To monitor and anticipate issues on time. Report on cost impact and respond timely to management.
• Ensures timely submission of variation order (VO) costs and communicates progress to the project manager, along with submitting monthly progress claims and closing final accounts.
• Check, verify and evaluate all Extension of Time (EOT) claims.
• Projecting cost estimates on various materials needed for a project.
• To actively participate in meetings and update/distribute information to team.
• To ensure correspondences and documentations housekeeping at all times are updated and filed.
• Assist for material sourcing and procurement.
• Assist on invitation of quotation and negotiation, sub-contractor award.
• As-built site measurement and quantity taking-off.
• Coordinating with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, Sub-Contractors & Suppliers to ensure site progress smooth.
• To deliver and/or provide support and/or assist in ad-hoc tasks or any new tasks, as and when required.
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Superior

Requirements:
