Job summary

CONSTANT TEAMWORK SDN. BHD is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor in Ipoh, Perak to manage costs, contracts, and procurement across construction projects. The role focuses on ensuring delivery within budget and to quality standards.

The successful candidate will work on pre- and post-contract administration, prepare Bills of Quantities, cost plans, and supplier quotations, and liaise with clients and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying from a recognised institution.
• 3–5 years of practical experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of contract management, project costing, and procurement procedures.
• Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities with diverse stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Malaysian building regulations, safety standards, and project delivery methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tender cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BQ), and tender documentation.
• Manage pre-contract and post-contract administration, including budget preparation, cost planning, and cost control.
• Prepare quantity measurements, take-offs, rate build-ups, and Letters of Award.
• Source quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, and prepare budgets and cost estimates.
• Manage procurement of construction materials and related resources.
• Prepare and evaluate progress claims for subcontractors and clients.
• Coordinate with the project team on contractual matters, including Variation Orders (VO), Extension of Time (EOT), Loss and Expense (L&E) claims, cost control, and contractual correspondence.
• Attend joint site valuations, final measurements, and project-related meetings.
• Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate Variation Order claims and Final Accounts.

About the role
CONSTANT TEAMWORK SDN. BHD is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Ipoh, Perak. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the financial and commercial management of our construction projects. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing costs, contracts, and procurement activities throughout the project lifecycle. This role is essential to ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key responsibilities

Responsible for preparing tender cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BQ), and tender documentation.

Manage both pre-contract and post-contract administration, including budget preparation, cost planning, and cost control.

Prepare quantity measurements, taking-offs, rate build-ups, and Letters of Award.

Source quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, and prepare project budgets and cost estimates.

Manage the procurement of construction materials and related resources.

Prepare and evaluate progress claims for subcontractors and clients.

What we're looking for

Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline from a recognised institution

Minimum 3-5 years of practical experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry

Strong knowledge of contract management, project costing, and procurement procedures

Proficiency in relevant software including cost estimation software and Microsoft Office applications

Excellent numerical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail

Strong communication and negotiation abilities with the capacity to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders

Knowledge of Malaysian building regulations, safety standards, and project delivery methodologies
