BPX Sdn Bhd is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor to manage project costs from budgeting through final accounts. The role requires fast-track project experience, strong English, and proficient cost analysis skills.
You will review tenders, prepare bills of quantities, and coordinate procurement. Travel to sites and client meetings is expected to support project delivery and value for money.
A quantity surveyor manages all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. They seek to minimize the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.
Assist in establishing of project budget.
Pre-qualification of tenderers Source and identify suitable tenderers, evaluation and recommendation of tenderers to participate in tender as per tender programme.
Review pretender estimates, analyse on tender submitted.
Element cost analysis for building and infra-structure works.
Carry out cost economic study of alternative specifications and design.
Review tender and contract document.
Assist in coordination of procurement exercise, which include calling of tender, review tender report, attend tender interview, negotiate and finalise award.
Review and rationalization of rates.
Preparing tender and contract documents including bill of quantities.
Assist in establishing a client's requirements undertaking feasibility studies.
Preparation of Letter of Award to Contractor/Subcontractor.
Carry out site valuation and process interim progress claim on monthly basis.
Review quotation or claim for variation works submitted by contractors/subcontractors.
Review final account.
Monitoring contractual status.
Assisting in cost control by monitoring and evaluating RFVOs.
Assist in preparation of final account statements.
Perform risk, value management and cost control.
Providing advice on contractual claims.
Preparation of project costing, budgeting and cost report.
Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use.
Attending site-meetings, client consultant meetings, etc. for project coordination.
Perform any others work related to QS task, taking off, prepare BQ, tendering, claim, negotiated and planning for the project etc.
Other additional and ad hoc task assigned by Superior.
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
Min 2 years previous working experience in fast-track projects
Min 2 years INDUSTRIAL FACTORY or Data Centre experience
Good written and spoken English
Excellent client liaison and people management skills
Extensive understanding of the construction industry
Good analytical, financial and numeracy skills
Sound knowledge of contracts and the legal framework
Experience with relevant software tools such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam and Revit will be an added advantage
Willing to travel/relocate to other states throughout Malaysia.
