Job summary

AWH Ventures Sdn Bhd, a Malaysia-based logistics and freight forwarding company, seeks a seasoned Business Development Manager to drive growth, expand the client base, and strengthen long-term partnerships to raise revenue and market share.

You will lead opportunities in freight forwarding, warehousing, and project logistics, manage pricing to protect GP margins, and coordinate with operations, procurement and finance to maximise profitability.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business Management, Logistics & Supply Chain Management or related field.
• 6+ years in logistics or freight forwarding with at least 3 years in a management team.
• Strong understanding of freight forwarding operations (sea/air), warehousing and project logistics.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Strategic thinker with proven ability to build relationships and close deals.
• Proficient in MS Office and Outlook.
• Possess own transport and willing to travel locally or regionally.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities in freight forwarding, project logistics, warehousing and total logistics solutions.
• Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through cold calling, networking and industry engagement.
• Prepare and deliver proposals, tender and quotations to clients.
• Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
• Ensure all business secured meets minimum GP margin requirements (e.g. 15–25%).
• Monitor pricing strategy to maintain GP% and maximize profit margins.
• Liaise with operations and procurement to optimize cost.
• Regularly review job costing and profitability per client/shipment.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients; act as main contact for commercial matters.
• Conduct regular client visits and business reviews; handle feedback and negotiations.
• Monitor market trends and pricing benchmarks; identify new industry segments.
• Provide strategic input on business expansion.
• Coordinate with operations, customer service and finance for smooth service delivery.
• Ensure customer requirements are clearly communicated and fulfilled.
• Support credit control in payment collection and adherence to terms.
• Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports; track KPIs and report to management.
