Job summary

Bumantara Construction Sdn Bhd invites a skilled interior designer to join their team in Kuching. The role focuses on translating client briefs into compelling design concepts, developing detailed proposals, and preparing presentations and drawings for interior fit-out projects.

You will coordinate with consultants, contractors, and suppliers, assist in cost estimation and materials selection, and ensure timely, quality delivery of works.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years relevant experience in interior design projects.
• Strong design sensibility with understanding of space planning, proportion, materials, and detailing.
• Exposure to wider design markets (e.g. West Malaysia projects) is a plus.
• Experience in residential and/or commercial interior projects.
• Project coordination or management experience is a plus.
• Able to work independently and meet project deadlines.
• Strong design portfolios demonstrating exposure to diverse design styles and markets encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Translate client briefs into functional and aesthetically strong design concepts.
• Develop creative yet practical design proposals aligned with client needs and budgets.
• Prepare design presentations, mood boards, 3D visualizations, and construction drawings.
• Assist in cost estimation, materials selection, and design value engineering.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
• Inspect and ensure quality of interior fit-out works.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
