Job summary

Build Ant Design Sdn Bhd in Penang seeks an interior designer with 1–3 years of experience to translate client requirements into functional spaces. You will lead space planning, create 3D visualizations, and guide material selection from concept to construction drawings using AutoCAD and SketchUp.

You will collaborate closely with clients, coordinate with the construction team, attend site meetings, and present proposals.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field.
• 1–3 years interior design experience (residential or commercial).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and visualization tools (V-Ray or Enscape) preferred.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

Communicate with clients to understand design requirements, including budget, functionality, and style preferences

Space planning and layout design

3D visualizations

Material selection and color schemes

Prepare and refine construction drawings (AutoCAD / layout / detail drawings)

Coordinate closely with the construction team and project managers to ensure smooth project execution

Assist clients with material selection (flooring, cabinetry, lighting, hardware, etc.)

Participate in site meetings and make design adjustments based on project progress

Organize design documentation and present proposals to clients

Job Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field

Minimum 1–3 years of relevant interior design experience (residential or commercial projects preferred)

Proficient in the following software:

AutoCAD

SketchUp

V-Ray or Enscape (a plus)

Basic understanding of space planning, materials, and construction methods

Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise independently with clients

Responsible, detail-oriented, and capable of managing time and project follow-ups

Proficiency in English and Mandarin preferred (Malay language skills are a plus). We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
