Nippon Paint (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a proactive Procurement professional to support day-to-day operations, negotiate prices, analyze costs, and ensure timely, cost-effective procurement of products and services. You will coordinate with internal departments and suppliers to resolve supply issues and manage procurement documentation.

The role requires a chemistry background, 2–5 years in a chemical manufacturing setting, and experience with SAP.

• Degree in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry from a recognised institution.

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join our Procurement team. In this role, you will support the company's day-to-day operations by ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of products and services. Your responsibilities will include negotiating prices with suppliers, analysing purchasing costs, monitoring deliveries, and identifying opportunities for cost savings while maintaining smooth procurement operations.

To succeed in this role, you will need strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, along with good attention to detail. You will also work closely with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve supply-related issues, manage procurement documentation, and ensure compliance with relevant procedures and SST requirements.

Below is a synopsis of your job functions:

Price negotiation, reviewing, comparing and analysing products and services purchased.

Provide analysis on costs, new and existing, as well as review cost reduction activities.

Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact operations

Review documentation before submission for item code creation and new vendor registration.

Manage SST-related applications and ensure proper monitoring and compliance.

Requirements:

Background:

Degree in Chemistry. Applied Chemistry or its equivalent from a recognised institution of higher learning.

Experience:

Preferably with 2-5 years of working experience in chemical’s manufacturing environment.

Experience in procurement or purchasing of waterproofing, flooring, painting tools, and raw materials.

Possess good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (price negotiation, cost analysis, and delivery coordination with vendors).

Experience in using SAP will be an added advantage.

Knowledge & Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint & Excel) applications.

Excellent time management and organisation skills, meticulous and delivers quality work.

Able to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks.

Enjoys working in a fast-paced, challenging yet fun environment.

A highly motivated individual who is willing to take initiative and follow up with details.
