Job summary

Embun Design Studio in Malaysia is seeking an on-site M&E Supervisor to oversee mechanical and electrical installation works on our projects. You will read M&E drawings, coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, and main contractors, and ensure work aligns with specifications and safety standards.

You will identify issues, lead problem solving, supervise testing and commissioning, and maintain progress reports and site records.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in mechanical or electrical M&E engineering.
• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in M&E works on construction sites.
• Ability to read M&E drawings, specs, method statements, and shop drawings.
• Good knowledge of construction practices and M&E systems.
• Experience coordinating with M&E subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and main contractors.
• Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work on-site and manage multiple activities per schedule.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor M&E installation works at project sites.
• Coordinate daily M&E activities with site engineer and project manager.
• Ensure M&E works follow project schedule and approved method statements.
• Review M&E drawings and technical documents.
• Identify defects and coordinate corrective actions.
• Monitor delivery, testing, commissioning and handover of M&E systems.
• Attend site meetings and provide progress updates.
• Maintain safety, quality and housekeeping in M&E areas.

Supervise and monitor M&E installation works at project site to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.

Coordinate daily M&E activities with Site Engineer, Project Manager, consultants, subcontractors and other trades.

Ensure M&E works are carried out according to the project schedule and approved method statements.

Review and interpret M&E drawings, shop drawings and technical documents.

Monitor the workmanship and quality of M&E installation works.

Conduct site inspections and identify any defects, discrepancies or non-compliance.

Coordinate with subcontractors to rectify site issues and ensure corrective actions are completed.

Monitor delivery, storage and installation of M&E materials and equipment.

Assist in testing, commissioning and inspection of M&E systems.

Coordinate M&E works to prevent clashes with architectural, structural and other building services works.

Attend site meetings and provide updates on M&E work progress.

Prepare and maintain relevant site reports, inspection records, checklists and progress updates.

Ensure all M&E works comply with relevant safety, quality and project requirements.

Monitor subcontractor performance and report any delays or issues to the Project Manager/Site Manager.

Ensure proper housekeeping and safe working practices are maintained within the M&E work areas.
