The M&E Coordinator supports the effective delivery of mechanical and electrical systems on construction projects by coordinating design, site execution, and stakeholder communication to ensure timely, compliant, and high-quality installation.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
M&E Coordination & Planning
- Coordinate daily M&E activities on site to ensure alignment with project schedules and construction sequencing.
- Assist in planning M&E work programmes and monitor progress to meet project milestones.
- Ensure proper integration of M&E services with architectural, structural, and civil works.
Technical Review & Support
- Review M&E layouts, shop drawings, and technical submissions for constructability and coordination accuracy.
- Identify clashes, discrepancies, or installation constraints and propose corrective actions.
- Provide technical clarification to site teams and subcontractors during execution.
Site Supervision & Quality Assurance
- Conduct regular inspections of M&E works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Monitor workmanship, installation methods, and material usage in accordance with project requirements.
- Coordinate rectification works and follow up on outstanding defects.
Stakeholder & Authority Coordination
- Act as a key point of contact between consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and the project team on M&E matters.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and approvals with consultants and relevant authorities.
- Ensure statutory requirements and safety regulations are observed throughout project execution.
Testing, Commissioning & Handover
- Coordinate testing, commissioning, and performance verification of M&E systems.
- Assist in preparing operation & maintenance manuals, warranties, and as-built documentation.
- Support project handover activities to clients and end users.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare progress updates, inspection reports, and coordination records for management review.
- Maintain proper documentation of drawings, approvals, material submissions, and testing results.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in M&E coordination within the construction environment.
- Practical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, ELV, and building services systems.
- Familiar with Malaysian statutory requirements and construction practices.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; BIM/Revit knowledge is an added advantage.
- Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight project timelines.
- Possession of CIDB Green Card or relevant certifications will be an advantage.
