Jora Malaysia is seeking a Site Engineer M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) to coordinate and supervise on-site M&E works, reviewing shop drawings and ensuring conformity with specifications, standards and project schedules.
You will liaise with Civil, Architectural, and other trades, manage 4M on-site, coordinate procurement, conduct inspections, and prepare RFI/IR, progress reports, and handover documentation. A Bachelor's in relevant field and 3+ years' M&E experience are required.

Coordinate and supervise Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works on site in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, project schedules, and relevant standards.
Review M&E drawings (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Fire Protection and ELV) to identify discrepancies, design conflicts, and coordination issues before construction.
Coordinate M&E interfaces with Civil & Structural (C&S), Architectural, and other trades to prevent clashes and ensure smooth site execution.
Ensure all M&E installation works comply with project specifications, approved shop drawings, authority requirements, and applicable Malaysian Standards.
Supervise and coordinate M&E subcontractors to ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, and within the approved construction programme.
Monitor site progress, manpower, materials, machinery, and equipment (4M) to ensure timely completion of M&E works.
Coordinate procurement and delivery of M&E materials, ensuring approved materials are available according to the project schedule.
Conduct routine site inspections to monitor the quality of M&E installations, including electrical systems, lighting, power distribution, HVAC systems, plumbing, sanitary, drainage, fire protection, and ELV systems.
Ensure all installations comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, and statutory requirements.
Prepare and submit Requests for Information (RFI), inspection requests (IR), and other technical documentation when clarification is required.
Review shop drawings, material submissions, and technical proposals prior to construction.
Attend site coordination meetings, consultant meetings, technical discussions, and progress meetings with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams.
Coordinate with internal departments including Procurement, Planning, Contract, Quantity Surveying (QS), QA/QC, Safety, and Administration to ensure project requirements are met.
Assist QA/QC personnel during inspections and ensure timely rectification of defects and non-conformance issues.
Monitor subcontractor work quality and progress for work certification and monthly progress claims.
Assist in the preparation and verification of as-built drawings, operation & maintenance (O&M) manuals, and project handover documentation.
Assist in inspection, testing, and commissioning (T&C) activities for all M&E systems and coordinate with consultants and relevant authorities during inspections.
Maintain proper site records, inspection reports, testing records, daily site diaries, material records, and progress documentation.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and report project status to the Project Manager / Project Director.
Ensure compliance with project safety requirements, company policies, environmental standards, and statutory regulations at all times.
Liaise with relevant authorities including TNB, SPAN, BOMBA, DOSH, local councils, utility providers, and consultants to facilitate inspections, approvals, and project compliance.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager or Management from time to time.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or equivalent.
Minimum three (3) years of relevant working experience in M&E construction with a main contractor or established M&E contractor.
Experience in residential, commercial, industrial, mixed development, or infrastructure projects will be an added advantage.
Strong knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical systems including:
Electrical Power Distribution
HVAC Systems
Plumbing & Sanitary Systems
ELV Systems
Good understanding of Malaysian construction practices, authority requirements, and relevant engineering standards.
Able to interpret and coordinate construction drawings, shop drawings, coordination drawings, schematic diagrams, and as-built drawings.
Familiar with inspection, testing and commissioning (T&C) procedures and project handover processes.
Good knowledge of site coordination, construction sequencing, quality control, and subcontractor management.
Strong communication, coordination, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Able to work independently, under pressure, and meet project deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Knowledge of AutoCAD is required; experience with Revit, Navisworks, BIM, Microsoft Project, or Primavera P6 will be an added advantage.
Familiar with QA/QC documentation, RFI, IR, material submissions, and progress reporting.
Possess a valid driving licence and willing to travel or be based at project sites as required.
Willing to work on-site and support extended working hours when necessary to meet project schedules.
At least handle and complete a project from commencement to handover to client.
