Job summary

CHINA CONSTRUCTION YANGTZE RIVER (M) SDN. BHD. is seeking a skilled Draftsman to join our PDG Project team in Malaysia.

You will prepare construction shop drawings across architectural, structural and MEP disciplines, coordinate multi-discipline drawings, manage revisions, and support site engineering for building, structure, MEP and infrastructure works. Experience in factory or data centre projects is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or above in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Engineering Drafting or related disciplines.
• Minimum 2 years working experience in civil/construction drafting; experience in factory or data centre projects is an advantage.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit and Excel. Able to handle external references, layers, layouts, scales and batch plotting.
• Strong drawing reading skill: interpret architectural, structural, piling and infrastructure drawings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction shop drawings based on IFC drawings and project requirements, including architectural, structural and interior shop drawings such as plans, elevations, sections and details.
• Develop architectural & interior detailing drawings: blockwork layout, doors & windows, wall, floor, ceiling, waterproofing, staircase, handrail and roof works.
• Support structural construction: prepare detailed drawings for foundation, concrete members, openings, embedment plates and equipment bases using verified engineering information.
• Coordinate MEP interfaces: work with MEP and BIM teams to check equipment bases, wall/slab penetrations, sleeves, cable trenches, shafts and access routes.
• Prepare external works drawings for roads, hardstandings, drainage, manholes, boundary walls, main gates and underground service coordination.
• Carry out cross-trade drawing coordination: verify dimensions, levels and positions across architectural, structural, MEP and external works drawings, and raise clashes to engineers.
• Review and consolidate shop drawings from subcontractors including steel structure, curtain wall, metal works and other specialty packages, check interface compatibility.
• Support technical clarification: prepare supporting sketches, sections and details for RFI, technical meetings and site queries.
• Revise and submit drawings: update drawings per consultant comments, approved RFI responses and variation orders, assist technical team for drawing submission.
• Prepare as-built drawings: updating drawing records based on site survey data, construction records and approved changes to finalise as-built documentation.
• Maintain drawing register, drawing numbers and revision logs; coordinate with document control team to ensure proper site drawing management.

Job Requirements

Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit and Excel. Able to handle external references, layers, layouts, scales and batch plotting.

Strong drawing reading skill: able to interpret architectural, structural, piling and infrastructure drawings and understand relationships between plans, sections, levels and details.

Familiar with setting-out principles: understand grid lines, coordinates, control points and levels; prepare setting-out drawings based on survey engineer data.

Good English competency: able to understand English drawing notes and consultant comments, and prepare basic drawing annotations in English.

Drawing management knowledge: familiar with drawing numbering, versions, revision clouds and submission status; maintain accurate drawing records.

Good communication & coordination skill: liaise with technical engineers, surveyors, site engineers and subcontractors to implement drawing updates promptly.

Bonus skill: Experience using Civil 3D, Navisworks or Procore.
