Job summary

WBL Perunding Sdn Bhd seeks an experienced C&S/Structural Drafter to join our engineering consultancy team in Malaysia. You will prepare and update structural drawings, collaborating closely with engineers throughout design and project stages.

Key duties include drafting RC details, steel framing, foundations, and construction details, while integrating feedback and ensuring timely delivery with strong document control.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a C&S / structural consulting firm.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Good understanding of RC structural detailing (beams, slabs, columns, walls).
• Familiar with steel detailing and connection drawings.
• Able to read and understand structural drawings and design notes.
• Experience with Revit Structure and/or Tekla Structures is a plus.
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed structural drawings using AutoCAD and other relevant drafting software based on engineers' design requirements.
• Interpret structural design sketches, calculations, specifications and engineering instructions to produce accurate drawings.
• Prepare RC structural drawings, reinforcement details, steel structure drawings and foundation/piling drawings.
• Prepare structural plans, sections, elevations and construction details.
• Revise and update drawings based on engineers' comments and project requirements.
• Coordinate drawings with engineers, architects and other consultants.
• Conduct drawing checks for accuracy, completeness and consistency before submission.
• Maintain proper drawing files, revisions and documentation.
• Ensure drawings are completed within the required project schedule.

Key responsibilities

Prepare detailed structural drawings using AutoCAD and other relevant drafting software based on engineers' design requirements.

Interpret structural design sketches, calculations, specifications and engineering instructions to produce accurate drawings.

Prepare RC structural drawings, reinforcement details, steel structure drawings and foundation/piling drawings.

Prepare structural plans, sections, elevations and construction details.

Revise and update drawings based on engineers' comments and project requirements.

Coordinate drawings with engineers, architects and other consultants.

Conduct drawing checks for accuracy, completeness and consistency before submission.

Maintain proper drawing files, revisions and documentation.

Ensure drawings are completed within the required project schedule.

About you

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a C&S / structural consulting engineering firm.

Proficient in AutoCAD.

Good understanding of RC structural detailing, including beams, slabs, columns, walls, footings and reinforcement detailing.

Familiar with steel structural detailing and connection drawings.

Able to read and understand structural drawings, design sketches, calculations and engineering notes.

Experience in Revit Structure and/or Tekla Structures will be an added advantage.

Possess at least a Certificate or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Civil & Structural Engineering, Drafting or a related field.

Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsible, self-motivated and able to work independently with minimum supervision.

Able to work effectively with engineers and project team members.
