Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 2 years of experience in automation, mechanical systems, or related fields.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent tools.
• Understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, electrical controls, and PLC programming.
• Knowledge of automation principles, industrial robotics, and control systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

About the role
We are seeking an Automation Engineer to join the growing engineering team at MeHow Medical (M) Sdn Bhd in Simpang Ampat, Penang. This is an exciting full-time opportunity ideal for mechatronics fresh graduates or early-career professionals looking to establish themselves in the field of mechanical engineering and automation. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising automated systems and processes that enhance our manufacturing and operational efficiency. You will work on cutting-edge projects that directly impact product quality and production capability, making this a strategically important position within our engineering department.

Key responsibilities

Design and develop automated systems and solutions tailored to manufacturing processes and operational requirements

Create detailed technical drawings, schematics, and documentation using CAD software and automation design tools

Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed automation projects

Integrate mechanical components, pneumatic systems, electrical controls, and sensors to achieve optimal automation functionality

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. Fresh Grad are welcome to apply

Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 2 years of experience in automation, mechanical systems, or related fields

Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent tools

Understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, electrical controls, and PLC programming

Knowledge of automation principles, industrial robotics, and control systems

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards

Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and communicate technical information clearly

Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies

Preferred: Experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, or ladder logic; familiarity with industrial IoT and Industry 4.0 concepts
