Job summary

CAD WORK ENGINEERING SDN BHD, based in Penang, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design automation machines, components, jigs and fixtures per customer specs. You will create 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks and maintain BOMs, drawings, specs for fabrication and assembly.

The role requires diploma/degree in mechanical or mechatronic engineering, willingness to travel locally or overseas, and ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or related field.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; relevant experience in mechanical design or automation is an advantage.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks is required.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks or projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop customized automation machines, mechanical components, jigs & fixtures based on customer requirements.
• Develop 3D mechanical designs and detailed 2D engineering drawings using SolidWorks or other CAD software.
• Prepare and maintain BOM, technical drawings, specifications and design documentation for fabrication and assembly.
• Translate customer requirements into practical, reliable and cost-effective mechanical designs.
• Review and evaluate designs for functionality, manufacturability, assembly, safety and cost effectiveness.
• Collaborate with electrical, programming, fabrication, assembly and project teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Provide technical support during machine assembly, testing, debugging and troubleshooting.
• Identify mechanical design issues and implement design modifications, corrective actions and improvements.
• Support machine installation, commissioning and customer buy-off when required.
• Ensure assigned design tasks and project deliverables are completed according to the project schedule.
