Premium Sound Solutions Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to lead automation initiatives across production lines in Malaysia. You will design and implement automation concepts, participate in FAT/SAT/ER activities, and push for continuous improvements in uptime and productivity.
The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, proficiency in PLC programming, CAD design, and strong teamwork across Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering.

Collaborate with Global Process Engineering (GPE) team and equipment suppliers to develop automation concepts, jig designs, and equipment solutions.
Support the buy-off process for new jigs and automation equipment, including Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Site Acceptance Test (SAT), and Engineering Run (ER).
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including new production line setup, machine installation, commissioning, adjustment, and optimization.
Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new automation equipment and transfer technical knowledge to maintenance engineers and technicians.
Establish maintenance instructions, preventive maintenance (PM) structures, and maintenance checklists for automation equipment, and conduct related training for maintenance teams.
Define and maintain spare parts lists for automation equipment, identify critical spare parts, and recommend minimum inventory requirements.
Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting expertise for automation equipment issues beyond the capability of maintenance engineers and technicians.
Lead hands-on automation implementation activities, including setup, commissioning, buy-off, performance validation, and continuous improvement.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance automation equipment uptime, reliability, efficiency, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Continuously identify and evaluate automation opportunities to improve labor productivity, manufacturing performance, and operational efficiency.
Participate in annual maintenance budget planning and support cost reduction and productivity improvement projects.
Perform data-driven root cause analysis on equipment downtime, recurring failures, and process abnormalities, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Monitor and analyze equipment performance metrics and recommend improvement plans to achieve reliability and productivity targets.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Production, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and Procurement, to ensure successful automation project execution and sustainable machine performance.
Requirements;
Bachelor's Degree in Automation, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
Minimum 5 years of automation engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong technical knowledge in:
Proficient in PLC programming and troubleshooting (Omron, Siemens, Beckhoff, or Xinjie).
Able to design jigs and fixtures using CAD software.
Experience in machine data collection, equipment monitoring, and production system integration.
Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
Hands-on, technically strong, and able to work independently.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Able to communicate in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is an added advantage.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and results-driven.
Willing to travel overseas for project implementation, equipment buy-off, and technical support.
