Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting new product assembly, translating customer requirements into manufacturing processes, improving production efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives, and developing standardized work instructions. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply as training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Review customer drawings and technical specifications, and translate them into Bills of Materials (BOM) and manufacturing work processes for new product assemblies.
- Prepare and maintain assembly documentation, process flow, and manufacturing requirements.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting during assembly and production to ensure smooth operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Production, Quality, and Engineering, to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, improve product quality, reduce manufacturing costs, and eliminate waste.
- Develop, review, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WI), and process documentation.
- Support process standardization and knowledge transfer activities to ensure consistent manufacturing practices.
- Assist in implementing engineering changes and process improvements.
- Ensure manufacturing activities comply with company quality standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements.
- Perform other engineering-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
Education
- Minimum Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
Experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is an added advantage.
- Internship experience in manufacturing or engineering will be considered an advantage.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of SolidWorks or other equivalent 3D CAD software.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and technical aptitude.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Basic knowledge of BOM creation and manufacturing documentation.
- Familiarity with ISO quality management systems is an advantage.
