Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior/Staff Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design and development of custom automation equipment and precision mechanical systems for the semiconductor and industrial automation industry. This role is responsible for overseeing machine design activities, supporting project execution, and providing technical guidance to junior engineers while ensuring designs meet customer requirements, quality standards, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of custom automation machines and precision mechanical systems from concept to final release.
• Develop detailed 3D models, assembly drawings, and BOMs using CAD software in accordance with engineering standards.
• Perform engineering calculations, tolerance stack-up analysis, and material selection to ensure robust and reliable designs.
• Oversee mechanical design activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with technical requirements and project timelines.
• Support machine assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning to ensure successful system integration and performance.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams, suppliers, and customers on technical requirements and fabrication matters.
• Ensure all designs comply with customer specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations while driving continuous improvement and providing technical mentorship to junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electromechanical Engineering, or any related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in automation machine design or precision engineering industry.
• Proficient in SolidWorks or other CAD software for 3D modeling, detailing, and engineering design.
• Experience in Thermal Head, Test Socket, or Test Handler design is a strong advantage.
• Prior exposure to automation equipment or semiconductor industry is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
