Job summary

KPJ Healthcare Berhad is seeking an inpatient Billing Clerk to generate inpatient bills and verify itemized charges against the bill summary. You will obtain charge forms, ensure validity, monitor late charges, and maintain discharge records.

The role requires handling package charges, bed census data, and posting credit/debit notes with insurance providers. Candidates should have at least SPM and 1 year of experience, with strong attention to accuracy, integrity, and initiative.

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

  • Verify all detailed item charges entered by the ward clerk; ensure total matches bill summary.
  • Obtain charge forms from departments and ensure each charge is supported by a valid form.
  • Monitor late charges and submit the late charges bill within 7 days of the first bill.
  • Record discharge patients in the discharge book with time, bill number, and staff responsible.
  • Monitor package charges to ensure totals match the allowable package price.
  • Record bed census and occupancy rate in the discharge control book.
  • Generate Credit Note and Debit Note after receiving FGL from insurance/MCO and ensure amounts tally.
  • Collect excess amounts from patients when discharges occur and ensure tally before final bill.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by superiors.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

To be responsible for generation inpatient bills.

  • To verify all detailed item charges entered by the ward clerk. The total amount of the detailed itemized charges must be equal to the total amount reflected in the bill summary.
  • To be responsible for obtaining all charge forms from the respective departments. Ensure that every charge is recordedin the bill is supported by a valid charge form.
  • To monitor all late charges and ensure that the late charges bill is submitted to the company within 7 days of the dateof the first bill.
  • To record all discharge patients in the discharge book. Data should include time, bill no and staff responsible.
  • To monitor the package charges. The total charges must not be more or less than the allowable package price.
  • To monitor the bed census. To occupancy rate must be recorded in the discharge control book.
  • To generate the Credit Note and Debit Note after receiving the FGL from the insurance company/MCO.
  • To ensure that the Credit Note and Debit Note amounts are tally and accurate before submitting the final bill.
  • To collect the excess amount once received FGL same day with the patient discharge from the insurancecompany/MCO. To ensure excess amount collected from patients is tally and accurate before submitting the final bill.
  • To perform any other relevant duties as and when required by superior. To follow the instruction given by the superior.
