Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks an experienced Freight Audit and Payment specialist to monitor and manage third-party claims in our FAP workflow. You will analyze claims, develop KPIs, and improve recovery rates while coordinating with carriers and internal partners.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in freight claims, strong Excel skills, and thorough knowledge of NMFC tariffs. This role requires advanced English and a proactive, collaborative approach within a global logistics team.

Qualifications

• Advanced English is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Operations Management or related Logistics field.
• The candidate will have Freight Audit and Payment and claims administration experience with at least 5 years.
• Experience with NMFC claims related tariffs.
• Thorough knowledge of the Logistics industry (distribution, warehousing, manufacturing, import/export, supply chain).
• Proactive, entrepreneurial approach with initiative to improve processes.
• Strong analytical skills and advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels.
• Team player capable of influencing others to reach consensus.

Responsibilities

• Review and monitor FAP company for proper business controls and audit procedures, ensuring corrective action when deficiencies are found.
• Ensure transportation providers receive claims, review and resolve within designated timeframes.
• Provide data-driven analytical support and reporting to better track freight claims.
• Create and execute KPI reports for freight claims and payments.
• Maintain weekly updates of freight claims in the master spreadsheet and related Power app.
• Collaborate with carriers, operations leadership and category managers to review open claims and drive improvements.
