Job summary

Forvia is seeking a Plant IT Technician to support the daily IT operations of the facility, including shop floor MES and local network systems. You will serve as the administrator for business IT systems and provide user support, with escalation to L2/L3 when necessary.

You will manage desktop setups, backups, and basic network tasks while collaborating with IT and plant leadership. The role requires an Associate degree in IT or equivalent experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Information Technology, applicable certifications, or 5 years of experience in the function.
• Prior knowledge of troubleshooting and understanding of when to elevate issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day IT support for shop floor/MES and related systems.
• Engage L2 or L3 support when needed.
• Manage server disk space and OS patching.
• Troubleshoot hardware and perform replacements as required.
• Support MS Office and PC issues escalated via Stratos Help Desk.
• Collaborate with IT to deliver effective user solutions.
• Keep IT management updated on local/system changes.
• Create and escalate tickets using Stratos Help Desk.
• Set up and distribute desktops/laptops.
• Perform basic network troubleshooting and support.
• Execute periodic failover/failback for shop floor systems.
• Ensure backups are functioning properly.
• Manage local IT budget and assist leadership as needed.
• Communicate daily with plant management and participate in daily meetings.
