Job summary

DoorDash is seeking an experienced Manager, Tax Technology to lead tax platform and business projects on the DoorDash platform.

You will partner closely with Tax Engineering, TAP, Tax Product, and other stakeholders — gathering business and tax requirements, translating them into tax-system functional requirements for the Vertex Center of Excellence (CoE) to configure, and reviewing Technical Design Documents to provide functional tax expertise back to Tax Engineering.

Qualifications

6+ years of indirect tax or indirect tax technology experience.
Experience with US sales and use tax, Canada GST/HST/PST, and Australia/New Zealand GST in food/beverage and retail contexts.
Experience implementing or configuring Vertex O Series or similar tax engine.
Ability to translate business and tax requirements into functional system requirements and review design documents.

Responsibilities

Lead tax platform and business projects on the DoorDash platform, including new verticals, merchant launches, and product launches.
Gather requirements from TAP, Tax Product, and business stakeholders; translate into tax-system functional requirements for Vertex CoE.
Review BRDs, PRDs, and TDDs for tax-system implications and provide functional tax expertise to Engineering.
Define testing requirements and oversee unit, integration, E2E, shadow, and post-launch validations.
Trace tax data from upstream systems through Vertex to downstream reporting and flag gaps or risks.
Lead and develop the offshore team, allocating workload and ensuring QA checkpoints.
